Due to planting Wonder Hedge relatively late in the year, temperatures can be as low as -5°C (even in the daytime) for 3-5 days at a time. In such a case you dig it.
Dig a 30-40 cm deep pit. Lay the saplings (bundled) in it, closely to one another.

Then cover the part above the roots, compressing it layer by layer. Make a "hill" in which the roots of the plants are 40-55 cm deep under the covering surface.

It is worth to dig ground out for covering in a way digging the ditch of the next row at the same time. The plant placed in it protects the roots of the plants under the previous "hill".

Before the last layer covering soil it is advisable to sprinkle it with sawdust because it extracts humidity in rainy weather, giving lesser chance for the damaging effects of the frost.
It is very important to compress the soil after each layer.
